this anime is kinda like life...it starts off all innocnet and carefree but as it goes on it delves into some very deep and sorrowful subjects

I can absolutely say that this anime should be considered one of the best example of masterpiece not based on war,ninja or such things,only life.

of course different life that ours but life.

Ok so I bought the entire series awhile ago (found it in Coconuts! go me), and I agree with you guys 100%. This was really an amazing show! Very deep, very emotional and powerful and it had a lot of good moments. And Oh God the ending. That made the entire series worthwhile!! Why didn't anyone tell me this had a linchpin ending! What a perfect conclusion to a great show.

It's an excellent dub -- not, say. Disney quality, but fine nevertheless.

My recommendation is to watch it English first time through, so you can get the story unimpeded by squinting at subtitles.

But a second viewing is mandatory with this one. So much that is passed over in the first viewing glows and thrums with meaning the second time.

So, read the subtitles on the second pass. The translation is slightly different, and the Japanese voice acting is in general better than the English.
